FAN favourite franchise Need for Speed has seen its first teaser image released by Electronic Arts.
This year's new addition in the franchise, being developed by Sweden-based studio Ghost Games, is set to arrive alongside EA's other major 2015 title, Star Wars Battlefront between October 1 and December 31.
The new teaser snap was shared on Need for Speed's social platforms and was accompanied by the caption: "Are you ready for the next chapter?"
The word "Speedhunters" can be seen on the featured green car's wheel and is the name of EA's car culture blog site, which likely points to an expanded tie-in.
Speedhunters is described as an international collective of photographers, writers and drivers with a shared passion for stories surrounding international Car Culture.
Rumours persist that the new title will be the long awaited Need for Speed Underground 3 and fans are set to learn more today during the full Need for Speed reveal.
Ghost Games studio head Marcus Nilsson revealed earlier this month how EA planned to do an experiment with how this year's title would be put together.
He told IGN: “We need to help define for [fans] what the Need for Speed experience is,and they can help us define what that experience is. Then we can stay true to what that experience is.”
“That definitely is part of the reason we’re going to do things quite dramatically different to the Need for Speed brand.”
