The first factual error in Assassin's Creed Syndicate has been found.
The first factual error in Assassin's Creed Syndicate has been found.
Eagle eyed fans of the PS4 and Xbox One action adventure noticed the error in the debut trailer for the October game.
The title is set in London around 1868, the Industrial Revolution.
But while trains were running at the time, one train company that wasn't was British Railways.
Reddit users realised a train in the trailer carries the BR logo on it.
That's 80 odd years too early.
It's a clear error but fans are now trying to explain it within the context of the Assassin's Creed universe, where people relive the past using a machine.
One said: "Like the memory of the person in the machine and the memories of the ancestor got swapped.
"Maybe the memory containing the logo that the ancestor saw was forgotten so it got replaced with something from the 'pilots' memory."
Another train fan added: "The locomotive model is incorrect as well.
"It appears to be a 4-2-2 GNR Sterling; the first of which was not constructed until 1870."
