Maker Bandai Namco reckons fans should "embrace the darkness" when the much-wanted Playstation and Xbox title hits next April. But diehard lovers of the mega tough game series can get their hands on it sooner. They're being offered the chance to become a 'network stress tester' to ty out an early version of the game to check how well web servers do running its online components. A spokesman for the developer said: "Fans eager to get their hands on Dark Souls 3 can apply for the Network Stress Test sessions. "The Network Stress test is designed to allow elected testers to play the game for various tech verifications and is intended for quality improvement of the final product. The Network Stress Test will be available on PlayStation 4 Friday October 16 to Sunday 18th. If you're interested you'll have to register with the firm from tomorrow, September 18, to October 4 via www.DarkSouls3.com. The Dark Souls games have been a massive hit on consoles. They're set in medieval gothic worlds filled with monsters and ghouls. The titles are famed for being among the toughest in gaming, with a death sending you back to the start. Dark Souls 2 last year got global 5/5 top marks among reviewers
