IT has been a great year for video games, but 2015 isn’t over yet.
The likes of Halo 5 and Star Wars: Battlefront are on the horizon, while others including Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege already have the gaming world buzzing.
Batman: Arkham Knight was a fitting end to the epic series, while Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been a huge hit with the critics.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 remains favourite to be crowned Game of the Year, but many are backing Bethesda’s Fallout 4 to challenge for the title.
The eagerly-anticipated game is out on November 10, so here’s five reasons why Fallout 4 could be this year’s pick of the bunch.
1) Bethesda has a great track record
Bethesda have consistently put out some unforgettable titles including The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim.
What’s more, all three scooped Game of the Year gongs after captivating gamers across the globe
2) It’s been six years in the making
The Fallout series is notable for its immense graphics and mind-boggling storylines.
And with work on game number four starting immediately after production of Fallout 3 was completed in 2009, gamers can surely expect more thrills and immense attention to detail than ever.
3) You can customise almost anything
Pretty much everything in Fallout 4 can be turned into something useful – who’d have thought an alarm clock, some duct tape and globe could create a rifle long scope?
You can build your own settlement for life in the apocalypse, while weapons, food, power generators and living quarters can be fiddled around with, and you can even customise your dog!
4) A game within a game?
There’s pretty much a Tower Defence game in Fallout 4 itself.
When building your settlement, you’ll also have to equip it with defensive attachments in order to keep any unsavoury characters at bay, a really cool addition which is surely a plus in any gamer’s books.
5) Your mobile phone can become part of the Fallout world
Fallout 4 features a brand new Pip-Boy which looks seriously cool, and gamers who buy the collector’s edition will receive their very own Pip-Boy replica.
What’s more, there is a slot for your smartphone which makes your replica come to life and turns it into a second screen for the game.
