After a long wait, Watch Dogs was met with a mixed response and reviews so we're looking forward to Watch Dogs 2 which could be unveiled at E3 2015. Here's what we know about Watch Dogs 2 including release date rumours and details. See also: 26 most anticipated games of 2015/2016: Best games of 2015 & 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, 3DS.
We liked Watch Dogs (mostly) and it's just over a year since we reviewed it so it's definitely time to look forward to Watch Dogs 2. The original sold more than four million copies in a week and has sold more than 10 million copies in total so there are plenty of you out there eagerly awaiting the sequel.
Watch Dogs 2 release date rumours
The game hasn't been announced yet but we could be hearing about it this week since E3 2015 is taking place in Los Angeles. Ubisoft is holding its E3 2015 press conference on 15 June at 11pm UK time and you can watch the live stream here to see if Watch Dogs 2 gets unveiled (release date or no release date).
It's likely to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
We'll update this article if there's an announcement at E3 but until then, we think it's unlikely that Watch Dogs 2 will be released this year. A 2016 release date is probably more on the cards since it was a long wait for the original.
Watch Dogs 2 details
Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of Watch Dogs 2 in various ways. For starters, the online CV of a Senior Gameplay Programmer listed the game as a project. Julien Risse, who works at Ubisoft's Paris studio, listed Watch Dogs 2 alongside Bad Blood and Watch Dogs.
As Lionel Reynaud, vice president of creative at Ubisoft told CVG about the game saying that the original created a "brand and a promise".
"There are flaws, obviously. We absolutely want to tackle these flaws and surprise players, and the way to tackle some of those flaws is going to be quite radical. There are parts of the game that will need to change," he said. "This is quite a high ambition and will require us to develop technologies that we didn't have for Watch Dogs 1, but this combined with fixing and refining what worked well is probably the way to go for Watch Dogs 2."
That's all the major news around Watch Dogs 2 but it's looking promising for more details at E3 2015 so watch the live stream (link above) and come back to this page for all the details
