XBOX gamers can rejoice because one of the most popular game modes from Halo 3 and Halo: Reach is coming to Halo 5 Guardians
Following the recent additions of Warzone Firefight and Grifball to Halo 5, developer 343 has revealed that fan-favourite mode Infection is also in the works.
This was revealed during a Halo 5 Ghosts of Meridian DLC Livestream event which took place last night.
During the livestream the developer revealed that the Infection gametype is coming to the Xbox One game followed by a teaser trailer which you can see above.
For those wondering, Infection was zombie-themed mode in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach where one player, as the zombie, tries to "infect" everyone else. If you, as a zombie, killed an uninfected player, they became infected. Simples
Halo 5's next update is called Ghosts of Meridian - which comes out later this week - and would be the games fifth free update following the launch in October 2015.
The update includes two new maps, new weapons and vehicles, new visual customizations, and plenty more.
Highlights of the Ghosts of Meridian content include:
New Warzone map – Skirmish at Darkstar:
Though Liang-Dortmund’s local headquarters at Meridian Station was devastated, the remote polar outpost of Darkstar Station survived. But anomalies abound beneath the battered surface as ancient machinery buried deep in the planet’s mantle stir to life, including an all-new boss.
New Arena map – Tyrant:
The facility known as Site C by human explorers is one of a handful of intact Forerunner structures remaining in the Zeta Hydronis Secundus system, a grim reminder that even godlike artifice can be undone by the minds and hands of mad tyrants. The small-scale symmetrical map is built for Capture the Flag and Assault game modes.
New REQs items:
A slew of brand new REQs are arriving with Ghosts of Meridian, including Tartarus’ Gavel, a Legendary gravity hammer that unleashes kinetic explosions with each swing, and boosts movement speed, shield strength, and jump height.
