SONY'S next big God of War game may have been outed by a former designer's online portfolio.
Yesturday we brought you news that Sony's secret PS4 4K console could launch with a brand new God of War 4 game.
Supposedly the boosted version of the Playstation 4 would be home to the fourth God of War outing.
Later on a second reputable Industry insider, who many know as Shinobi602, further stoked the fires with some information of his own, Tweeting that the game would have more of a Norse flavour to it, focussing on viking gods such as Thor, Odin and Loki.
Until this morning a lot of this information was still up in the air, but that was before someone found a bucket load of concept art for the game sitting on the website of a concept artist.
Most of these images have been taken down from Imgur. They are however still available to see on NeoGAF.
Since the leak, the concept artist has completely taken down his website, adding further fuel to the fire that these images are quite possibly legit - and not at all a great big hoax like the recent Nintendo NX reveals.
It's also worth noting that the concept artist's Linkedin page states he's spent the best part of 4 months working with Sony Santa Monica Studio "Creating Concept Art and collaborating with the Visdev team for an unannounced project."
Back in December 2014, Sony Santa Monica's Creative Director Cory Barlog admitted a new God of War game was in early development and he hoped to share more within two years.
So the emergence of several small leaks of info could be in the lead up to a much bigger reveal at the annual E3 games conference in Los Angeles in June.
According to a number of reports online rumours have been circulating for some time that the God of War franchise could part ways with the tried and tested hero of Kratos and the Ancient Greek setting in favour of a clean slate, with the Nordic and Egyptian realms both suggested as two potential new avenues.
However if Shinobi602 is suggesting the former, it could be that Sony Santa Monica developers have already made their choice.
As we've mentioned before, it's expected that this stunning new addition to the third-person beat-em-up series would help launch the PS4K by pushing visuals better than any console game before.
The PS4k was outed a few weeks ago by several game industry insiders.
According to Osiris Black, the PS4K’s new graphics card (GPU) will be twice as powerful as the current PS4’s.
That means mega graphics, lifelike characters and super smooth gameplay like no console before.
It would trounce the already struggling Xbox One visually.
He wrote on NeoGAF: “Info from a meeting we had yesterday. They stated that the GPU is twice as powerful as standard PS4 and much faster.
“They did not say exactly how fast but that is was running at a higher clock speed while being much smaller than the original.”
