BLACK OPS 3'S Zombies director reveals massive Call of Duty secret and promises fans will never find this hidden easter egg from the games latest outing.
Call of Duty fans might remember that a few months back, Treyarch's Director of Zombies, Jason Blundell told Black Ops 3 fans that he was "fed up."
The reason for his frustration, jokingly, was because the community had repeatedly found his hidden easter eggs in Zombies mode.
So for Black Ops 3, Blundell decided he was going to put one in hidden in different arena’s, and warned fans "you won't get this one".
Now, just over five months on, Daily Star Online asked Blundell if anyone had found this mysteriously uber-difficult easter egg.
"Nope. Nobody's found it. I did say no one will get this one!"
Blundell then proceeded to tell us that there's also still plenty of undiscovered easter eggs from the developers previous games, all the way back to the original Call of Duty: World at War game.
"I had an interview a while back" said Blundell, "and someone was saying to me 'we’ve taken it apart, we’ve looked at the code, looked at everything, we've found all the easter eggs'. I was like 'OK , well here's one then - have you looked at the bios?'"
"I gave them an easter egg 6-years-old that nobody had found. And there's plenty more of that kind of stuff too still out there."
So can we expect any further clues from Blundell in the future? Probably not.
"I’ve told myself off," Blundell explained "No more I’m afraid. I won’t be baited by the fans. They're on their own!"
The second DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is now live on PS4.
Contained within this magnificent bundle of content you'll find four new Multiplayer Maps, Including a re-imagining of Call of Duty: World at War classic, Banzai.
In addition PS4 players can jump into the next highly addictive chapter in the Origins Zombies Storyline
“We know that fans are playing the hell out of our current selection of multiplayer and Zombies maps, which is why we have been working so hard to deliver an epic new DLC offering with Eclipse,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head, Treyarch.
“Suit up…it’s time to kick some ass again!”
For those unfamiliar with the Eclipse DLC, here's a quick run down of the new maps:
• Knockout: Housed in a traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist, Knockout sets the stage for a Kung Fu tournament. This mid-sized map showcases a sharp contrast between the mid-range engagements of the traditional exterior architecture and the tight close-quarters of an eclectic 1970’s styled interior.
• Spire: Spire takes multiplayer combat to a futuristic sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds. Multiple levels and open areas promote intense, mid-range combat around a clean, high-tech civilian environment. Watch your step, because one wrong move could send you plummeting back through the stratosphere.
• Rift: Players can head to the core of a harsh futuristic military complex, set high above an active caldera. Rift funnels and forces tight, intense engagements, where the only way through is forward. Players must utilise the unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies, as they traverse the suspended rail system.
• Verge: In this re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map, Banzai, Verge drops multiplayer combat into the centre of a distant post-apocalyptic future, where two warring factions are entrenched in constant battle. Players must take control of the key bridge, fortresses, tunnel systems and waterfalls as they engage in high-speed action through this medium-sized map.
Although this latest DLC is only available for PS4 players for the time being, Xbox One and PC gamers should now be able to download the latest updates, including gameplay improvements and bug fixes.
This also comes just in time for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Double Weapons XP Weekend, which runs from April 22 to April 25.
The event has just gone live and is scheduled to end at 6pm, UK time on Monday.
Call of Duty Black Ops III DLC pack, Eclipse, featuring four new multiplayer maps and the next chapter of Zombies is available now on PS4.
The Eclipse DLC should arrive to Xbox One and PC players sometime this May.
