SONY'S epic looking robo-dinosaur action RPG Horizon: Zero Dawn might have been pushed to next year. However, that could work in the PS4's favour.
Horizon Zero Dawn has supposedly been delayed.
We say supposedly as right now the only indicator we have is the (often correct) industry insider shinobi602.
Shinobi claims that Guerrilla Games upcoming PS4 exclusive won't launch until "early" next year.
What followed was a raft of comments responding to Shinobi, as many took his statement to infer that the game was being delayed to specifically optimise it for the (again rumoured) new PS4 4K console.
Elaborating further on NeoGAF, Shinobi explained that wasn’t what he meant:
“Yikes, I suppose I’ll chime in since that was taken way farther than I thought. Honestly it was just a general comment, obviously the whole point of the 4k is better looking games, that’s all I meant. It was never meant as a “It’ll run like ass on the PS4” chide.
"This is Guerrilla we’re talking about. Vast majority of this game’s development has been on the PS4. They’ve always done well in the performance department. I don’t think there’s a reason to fear for anything."
So far Sony has yet to announce any official delay to the product, so it's still worth taking a smidgen of salt with these rumours.
However, assuming Horizon: Zero Dawn is being pushing by just a couple of months to early 2017, this might not be the worst thing in the world.
Currently the back end of 2016 is looking awfully crowded.
Not only will we have the new PlayStation VR kit to toy around with, but there's more games then we can count and an awful lot of AAA first-person shooter's all fighting for your attention.
So delaying what already looks like an incredible looking game by the odd month, could be for the best in order to give it the breathing space it will no doubt deserve
