Fallout 4 update: Survival mode is coming this Friday, together with several bug fixes,
BETHESDA are set to roll out their ultra hard Survival Mode this Friday, as well as several updates in preparation for the games third DLC, Far Harbor.
Bethesda have revealed that Fallout 4 will receive it's newest update this Friday.
The key change will see the 2015 game of the year incorporating a new feature called survival mode on PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
This will effectively create a "more brutal take" within the game which "upends many of the rules of life in the Commonwealth for maximum challenge."
For instance, the new Survival Mode disables quick saves and fast travel; requires players to monitor their hydration, hunger and fatigue; as well as forcing wastelanders to be more conscious about how much stuff they're carrying.
According to the studio support team, the new patch is scheduled to go live Friday, May 7, although no time has been provided.
“Get ready for Survival Mode on console. Fallout 4’s 1.5 update expected to release on Xbox One & PS4 on Friday,” the official message reads.
No details have been provided on the updates official console patch notes, but we would anticipate that when the update rolls out it will also come with several bug fixes to the game.
Not to mention, several changes in preparation for the forthcoming Far Harbor expansion due later this month.
The news of survival mode follows yesterdays announcement trailer for Fallout 4’s third add-on, Far Harbor, which will be available worldwide on Thursday, 19 May across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC for £19.99.
Far Harbor will feature the largest landmass for an add-on that Bethesda Game Studios has ever created.
The American developers have also promised that the add on will be filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons.
To kick off the DLC it will begin with Valentine’s Detective Agency leading you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths.
Bethesda has also revealed that the location of Far Harbor is actually based on the real-world island of Bar Harbor, which is surrounded by Arcadia National Park and the Atlantic Ocean.
