PLAYSTATION owners with fond memories of playing Crash Bandicoot on the PSone could be about to see the iconic platforming hero return to consoles.
It seems that with the release of Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End next week that rumours of a Crash Bandicoot remake are in overdrive.
The most recent and somewhat convincing comes from one of the games main voice actors, which was picked up by a user on Neogaf.
Namely Lex Lang, the last voice of the games villian Dr. Neo Cortex.
On the face of it, this isn't that interesting.
But then if you take a look at Lex Lang’s voice acting work from past games, Dr. Neo Cortex is the only doctor that Lang has ever voiced, bar Doctor Doom in a free-to-play Marvel game.
Somehow, we don't see this free-to-play Marvel Heroes game making a comeback.
So surely there has to be something going on behind the scenes to bring Crash Bandicoot back to our PS4 consoles in the same way as Ratchet & Clank more recently
Earlier this year Sony dropped a massive hint at a return for the crazy bandicoot when the PlayStation Latin America Twitter feed posted a picture of the platforming icon.
And attached to the picture was the hashtag #TBT, as in Throwback Thursday.
However gaming website PushSquare have made a rather interesting observation:
"The picture appears to be brand new artwork, but it's actually an old magazine scan that's been heavily re-touched to look new.
"Who'd go to that much effort for a bit of retweet bait? An under pressure social media manager maybe? Perhaps.
"Or maybe – just maybe – the 'coot is making a comeback."
