revealed for Wii U and NX
NINTENDO kicked off their E3 lifestream by revealing the full title of the new Zelda game coming to Wii U and NX as well as an astonishing new game trailer
A title for the latest The Legend of Zelda game was finally announced today during a trailer shown off at Nintendo’s Treehouse Live E3 presentation.
It is now officially known as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, shedding its previous mysterious codename Zelda U.
"Step into a world of discovery, exploration and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series," reads the games description.
"Travel across fields, through forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning open-air adventure."
The trailer also showcases mechanics new to the series such as free-form climbing, cooking, wood cutting and taming wild animals.
It is also partially voice-acted, making it the first core Zelda game to do so.
Eiji Aonuma, the game’s producer, expressed that he specifically designed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to “rethink the conventions of Zelda”, changing it in a way that still appeals to veterans of the series whilst giving it a well-received breath of fresh air.
