CODEMASTERS new racer has promised "the most immersive career mode" yet as new trailer reveals release date, Baku City Circuit and DLC incentives.
F1 2016 will launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC August 19, Codemasters has confirmed.
The new iteration in the series was revealed in a new trailer where experienced F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Jolyon Palmer got the chance to experience the game's new Baku City Circuit.
"The video shows the two F1 drivers getting to grips with the new circuit, giving their impressions on the track and its challenges as they go," said Codemasters.
"The historic city centre, beautiful seaside promenade and impressive architecture all combine to provide the perfect backdrop to the new track – and it’s quite a spectacular contrast to see cars at the forefront of racing technology throwing themselves around a track enclosed by such a combination of history and 21st century style."
A few weeks ago, Codemasters promised that F1 2016 would be "the most immersive career mode ever featured in the franchise," with players able to sign a contract for a team and work their way up the ladder.
Or alternatively players can instead choose to develop their favourite team into a championship contender.
In addition, Codemasters say they will also be re-introducing the iconic Safety Car, as well as the sports Virtual Safety Car and a "stunning hospitality area for each team."
This hospitality area will act as the in-game hub and allow players to work with their Research and Development Engineer and Player Agent to develop their progress both on and off the track.
“F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise”, said Lee Mather, Principal Games Designer at Codemasters.
“The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons.
"Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes.
"A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life.”
Codemasters have also provided further details on the game's Limited Edition 'Career Booster' DLC, which they say is designed to "give players a head start in pursuing their F1 career".
"It also gives the player a ‘Research and Development boost’ that applies a percentage increase to all research and development credits earned by the player in each session in the new career mode.
"Not just this, but exclusive Career Helmet and Laptop designs are also included within the edition too."
