ZOMBIE cooperative first-person shooter Left 4 Dead 2 is the latest title to join Microsoft's Backwards Compatibility Xbox One initiative.
Well that didn't take long.
Not a day after announcing that Halo Wars, Soul Calibur 2, and King of Fighters '98 were available via Xbox One backwards compatibility, Microsoft revealed another title added to the list.
Also joining the party is Valve's Left 4 Dead 2.
Xbox's Larry Hryb announced the news on Twitter, telling fans: "Left 4 Dead 2 is now available on Xbox One Backward Compatibility."
And don't worry if you don't already own a copy of the game, because you can now buy Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.
The zombie slasher was one of the many games spotted by fans before its formal announcement via the Xbox Store and has been eagerly awaited by those who voted for it.
Microsoft has been allowing fans to vote on which titles they wanted added to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program ever since it was revealed during E3, 2015.
And in that time the ever popular Left 4 Dead 2 has received over 70,000 votes, putting it just behind Fallout: New Vegas in tenth spot, with 71,000.
Sadly we're all still waiting for news about when Microsoft are going to make the top four most requested titles available on backwards compatibility.
This would include the likes of Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Skyrim.
Some time back Mike Ybara, Director of Project Management at Xbox, promised that games on the way to backwards compatibility included Halo Wars (just added), Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock 1,2 & infinite as well as Skate 3.
But still there's no word on any of these games.
Not to mention Red Dead Redemption, which only a few months ago
Following that little mistake Hryb took to Reddit in order to apologise for the confusion and the mishap.
"Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles," he explained. "Due to an error some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available."
The blunder also saw some other titles appear as playable on the Xbox One, including Castlevania: SoTN (which was recently added to the backwards compatibility list) as well as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which was added last week.
"We have since removed access to those games," Hryb said on Reddit, "and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon."
