game months before release
SCI-FI shooter DOOM is coming to PS4 and Xbox this May, but here's how you can play the games magnificent multiplayer mode months before release.
If you wasn't one of the lucky souls able to enjoy the recent DOOM closed multiplayer beta, then you’re in luck.
From April 15 through 17, you’ll be able to jump straight into the open beta on PS4, Xbox and PC. No codes are necessary all you need to do is download the beta on your machine and sit patiently.
Like the closed beta, you’ll have access to Team Deathmatch and Warpath on the Heatwave and Infernal maps.
Bethesda have also revealed the contents of the games post-release DLC, cost £11.99 each, or at a discount with the Season Pass for £29.99.
In addition to the planned free support and content updates, the publishers also responsible for Fallout 4 will also be releasing three premium multiplayer DLC packs after launch.
This will grant users with a number of new maps, hack modules, playable demons, weapons and more.
The first DLC will be available this summer and give you access to:
• Three new maps
• One new weapon
• One new playable demon
• One new armor set
• One new piece of equipment
• New hack modules and taunts
• New customization colors and patterns
In case you didn't already know, ID Software's new DOOM game is now available to pre-order on PS4 and Xbox One.
However if you have the luxury of picking which console to opt for, Microsoft might have made your decision that little bit easier.
Right now, anyone who Pre-orders the new DOOM on the Xbox Store will be gifted the original Doom and Doom 2 for free.
It should be worth noting that this is only for a limited time.
Unfortunately the Xbox Store doesn't specify how long the promotion will last for so you're better buying it sooner rather than later.
Codes for both Doom and Doom 2 will be mailed out within ten days of purchase.
Both games are currently available on the Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 and are among the backward compatible titles on Xbox One.
Equally you're only saving yourself the better part of £6.78 if you were to download the games right now on.
But still, free games are free games regardless of the cost.
And you couldn't ask for anything better than two true classics of the gaming world
It's all the more reason to pre-order the return of the demonic shooter, and for those interested there's also a premium collector’s edition with a load of goodies that'll keep fans happy.
The limited DOOM collector’s edition – costing £99.99 – includes an exclusive, fully-realized 12” tall collector’s statue of one of the game’s most iconic demons – the Revenant.
Modelled from actual in-game 3D files and striking in appearance, the demonic Revenant stands on an LED-lit base with internal, slow-spinning turbine from the UAC facility on Mars.
Finally the collector’s edition comes packaged in an exclusive, battle-worthy metal case, all of which you can see below.
In addition, anyone who pre-orders – be it the collectors edition or standard edition – will receive the Demon Multiplayer Pack.
This includes a unique demon armour set with three skin variations, six metallic paint colours and three id logo patterns that can be applied to weapons and armour, plus a set of six Hack Modules – one-time consumable items that can give you an edge in a multiplayer match.
