SONY has released a massive and sensational gameplay trailer for this year's most eagerly anticipated PlayStation 4 release, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
It was E3 2015 when Naughty Dog last gave audiences any sort of glimpse into the gameplay of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
Sure there's been cinematic trailers and even a multiplayer beta to dig our teeth into, but nothing quite as meaty or nearly as interesting as the main game itself.
Rewind nine months and the world was collectively gasping at the action-packed chase sequence in which Nate and Victor "Sully" Sullivan rescue Nate's brother Sam from a group of well-armed mercenaries in hot pursuit.
The latest look at the game, released earlier today in the form of a 16 minute long video from the PlayStation EU blog, is something entirely different which we've seldom seen so far.
Yes, of course it's bursting at the seams with spectacular action worthy of any Hollywood blockbuster. There's gunfire whizzing over shoulders, explosions igniting in the heat of battle, even a wisecrack or two thrown in for good measure.
But for once we're getting a look at the subtler sides of the game.
We can now take in the simply gorgeous visuals, which have significantly improved since the last outing, with huge vistas which we've rarely seen implemented with quite so much finesse on the console.
Equally, we get a better look at the more nuanced and natural stealth characteristics of the game.
Now, Drake will hide in long grass in order to more effectively creep up on targets.
And should you start a firefight by mistake, we're told you can also sneak away and live to fight another day in stealth mode.
The game finally went gold earlier this month, which for anyone unfamiliar with the term means that the game is 100% finished and the master disc (gold) has been sent to the factory for replication and distribution.
This also means that after several delays and set backs, Sony and Naughty Dog's plan to release Uncharted 4 on May 10 is all set in stone.
So you can all bank on playing the game in just over a months time.
Unfortunately with the game looming ever closer, we won't be able to put off those suspicions of Drakes demise for that much longer.
Based off comments by Neil Druckmann earlier this year in an interview with The Sun, many believe that Drake might not survive the upcoming fourth and final release in the series.
Druckmann said: “The heart of this is Nathan Drake’s struggle: how do you balance your relationship with your family and friends and your passion, the thing you’re willing to dedicate your life to and make big sacrifices for.
"That’s what we want to get into. Because maybe you can’t have both. Maybe you can’t have your family and that passion and the obsession." Continued Druckmann.
"We've been with this character for so long. He's at the height of his popularity, so it's not a good business decision [walking away from the series]. But I feel like the best way to honour him is to go out on top, to finish his story.
"But with the end of story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake. Maybe there'll be a prequel, maybe it will be a different character, I don't know. But this is the end for Nathan Drake."
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End lands exclusively on PS4 on May 10.
But if you've just been paid and your money is burning a whole in your pocket, you could always blow a sizeable chunk of it on the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Libertalia Collectors Editon (above).
