PS4 SHOCKER: One of the most anticipated games of the year is SCRAPPED
SILENT HILLS creators confirm game won't be hitting PlayStation 4 later this year
It was set to be one the greatest survival horror games of all time, but Silent Hills has now been assigned to the scrap heap.
Silent Hills was to be the latest game in the Silent Hill franchise which is owned by Konami, while Metal Gear Solid creator, Hideo Kojima, was to direct the game with sci-fi and fantasy director Guillermo del Toro.
However, in a statement from the company they've confirmed it won't now be coming to consoles: "Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.
"In terms of Kojima and del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements."
This follows the recent news that the Interactive teaser for Silent Hills - P.T. - will be removed from the Playstation Store on the 29th April, 2015.
The teaser was released on on 12th August 2014 marketed as a demo for a horror game by the now non-existent 7780s Studio.
The teaser allows the player to walk in a loop around a house and find a way out. After the player solves the final puzzle, a trailer reveals the protagonist portrayed by Norman Reedus of Walking Dead fame.
Speculation on the completion of Silent Hills has been abundant since Konami announced Hideo Kojima was not continuing with development of the game
