THE Jungle Book remake is set to hit cinemas in just a few short weeks – but here's something to whet your appetite.
The cast of the Disney remake have posed with their CGI counterparts for a teaser shoot.
Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Giancarlo Esposito, Christopher Walken and Ben Kingsley posed for the breathtaking shoot, which sees the stars next to the animals they portray in the film.
While the original 1967 Disney classic was animated, the remake is live-action, with young actor Neel Sethi playing Mowgli alongside the computer-generated animals.
Scarlett Johansson brings a female twist to snake Kaa, saying: "Kaa seduces and entraps Mowgli with her storytelling. She's the mirror into Mowgli's past. The way she moves is very alluring, almost coquettish."
Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito plays wolf pack leader Akela, and said of his role: "Akela is a fierce patriarch of the wolf pack. He believes the strength of the pack lies in what each and every wolf offers. He's a great leader, a wise teacher."
Meanwhile, Lupita Nyongo' plays the wolf mother Raksha who raises Mowgli, saying: "She is the protector, the eternal mother. The word Raksha actually means protection in Hindi. I felt really connected to that, wanting to protect a son that isn’t originally hers but one she’s taken for her own."
Ben Kingsley plays Bagheera, Mowgli's adoptive parent, with the actor saying: "His role in Mowgli’s life is to educate, to protect and to guide. My Bagheera was military – he’s probably a colonel. He is instantly recognisable by the way he talks, how he acts and what his ethical code is."
Would-be Bond Idris Elba plays the terrifying Shere Khan, and said of the part: "Shere Khan reigns with fear. He terrorises everyone he encounters because he comes from a place of fear."
And finally, Walken plays a 12 foot tall King Louie: "King Louie is huge, 12 feet tall but he's as charming as he is intimidating when he wants to be."
Bill Murray stars in the film as the loveable Baloo, but his portrait has not yet been released.
The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau, is in cinemas on April 15.
