THE most controversial part of Frozen used to be whether you could get away with attempting Idina Menzel's high note in Let It Go at karaoke.
But now, an internet war has erupted over Princess Elsa and her would-be love interest.
Disney fans have called for Elsa to become the first openly gay Disney princess by creating the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend.
Countless fans took to Twitter to campaign for Elsa to have a girlfriend in the upcoming Frozen sequel.
One person wrote: "#GiveElsaAGirlfriend because LGBT kids deserve to know that there is nothing wrong with them", while another tweeted: "Because little girls watching should know you can be a princess and love another princess."
However, as is with all internet trends, there was some vile backlash to the seemingly innocent campaign.
Many people fought against the idea that Elsa could be gay, with some even branding the move "unnatural".
Because animated characters who marry beasts and have mice make their ballgowns are totally natural.
One person wrote: "If @disney makes Elsa from Frozen GAY thats not something my daughter will be watching. Why would you want kids influenced by that s***?
"Gay cartoons on Disney is literally one step from some type of soft porn. That weird s***. No thank you."
Another tweet read: "I don't want a kids movie to have an agenda", while one person tweeted: "It's bad enough kids asking questions we can't answer like how Elsa can make it snow with her hands imagine them asking what is being gay?"
However, the opposing side flattened the various arguments, with one person explaining that children won't turn gay simply because they have seen a gay character - just like nobody has become a mermaid after watching Ariel splash around in the sea.
There has never been an explicitly gay, lesbian or trans character in a Disney film, although shopkeeper Oaken in Frozen had a family picture featuring what appeared to be his husband and four kids.
