TELLTALE Games' Batman series will be a no holds barred experience and will 'turn things completely on its head' for players familiar with The Dark Knight.
Telltale Games' new Batman series is coming out later this year and according to the games, it will not be "pulling any punches" with the games R-Rating.
We was lucky to see a 30 minute preview of the game behind closed doors at E3 and afterwards Telltale Games' Senior Director, Richard Iggo, was on hand to answer our questions.
More specifically we was interested to learn more about the cinematic approach the team had taken, which they had said previously will feel more akin to an R-rated film.
"The M rating allows us to really tell the story we want to without pulling any punches," explained Iggo "And as you saw in our demo, it opens with a bank guard being shot point blank in the head.
"We’re definitely delving into the dark psychology of what it means to be batman and Bruce Wayne ... it's really no holds barred."
Telltale are also looking to change things up from the norm and that started with speaking to DC Comics.
"They’ve been great partners," Iggo explained.
"We set up a great relationship with DC first working on The Wolf Among Us and they're very open to what we're doing, they've given us 75 years of worth of Batman content to work with."
However, if you're worried about seeing an old and tired Dark Knight story then have no fear, because Telltale are doing something completely original.
"At the outset we we was clear [with DC] that we'd like to do a new story about batman and thats what they're letting us do.
"So your seeing stuff here in this demo with characters and situations that feel familliar, but our goal is to turn things completely on their head; not just for the player but for Bruce Wayne too.
"There's going to be a lot of things which are very different to the established canon."
Well how about reading these 10 facts about Telltale Games' Batman Series.
Batman: The Telltale Series will have five installments, each lasting around 90-120 minutes.
