Daniel plays a neo-Nazi in a gritty performance that finally puts an end to his boy wizard image.
The 26-year-old has a skinhead cut and gives Nazi salutes during a violent far-Right march in the film Imperium.
The movie is based on the true story of FBI agent Nate Foster, played by Daniel, who goes undercover to infiltrate a neo-Nazi group.
Fans will be shocked to see their former wizard idol serve up strong language and intense violence.
It is Daniel’s furthest move yet from his global image as Harry Potter which shot him to fame 15 years ago.
A movie source in Los Angeles said: “With his shaved head and thuggish demeanour fans will forget he was ever Harry.
“Daniel gives one of his greatest performances and is very convincing in this fast-paced thriller.”
