Daniel Radcliffe to star in controversial new movie about sex, rape & violence
HARRY POTTER star Daniel Radcliffe has been cast in the BBC productionGame Changer about the creator of the Grand Theft Auto video game series.
The 25-year-old actor has been confirmed to play the game's creator Sam Houser in the movie that will focus on how he fought a Miami lawyer Jack Thompson who tried to have violence in video games banned.
Bill Paxton will take on the role of Thompson in the biopic that is due to start filming shortly.
Grand Theft Auto is one of the best-reviewed video game series ever, despite critics and players expressing concerns over the way women are portrayed
In the gaming franchise, the player is a gangster in the depths of a criminal underworld and carries out illegal activities such as car jacking assault and bank heists.
The depiction of these crimes, as well as sex and violence are what Thompson took particular exception to, resulting in years of campaigning
against the games.
However the lawyer was dis-barred in 2008 for inappropriate behavior, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
